Willowglen and cynapse.ai have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand Agentic Video Intelligence solutions across Singapore and Southeast Asia, with initial projects targeting traffic monitoring, tunnels, and airport safety and security.
Agentic Video Intelligence Moves Into Critical Infrastructure
Singapore-based technology company Willowglen and AI video intelligence provider cynapse.ai are formalizing a partnership aimed at bringing agentic AI capabilities to critical infrastructure and security operations across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on September 30, 2026. The agreement covers joint marketing, knowledge sharing and development of Agentic Video Intelligence solutions, building on an existing relationship between the two companies.
The first planned applications include a road and tunnels traffic monitoring solution and an airport safety and security monitoring solution in Singapore. Those use cases put the partnership squarely in the emerging market for AI-powered computer vision, where video systems are increasingly moving beyond detecting predefined events toward interpreting scenes and supporting operational decisions.
Willowglen brings experience in SCADA, intelligent automation and integrated security management systems. Founded in Singapore in 1986, the company provides monitoring, control and security solutions for sectors including transportation, water, power and commercial facilities.
cynapse.ai, meanwhile, develops Agentic AI Video Intelligence designed to add a layer of contextual understanding to existing video infrastructure. Its platform combines Vision AI and vision-language models with AI agents that can analyze video, identify anomalies, automate workflows and support investigations.
From Video Detection to Agentic AI
The significance of the partnership lies in the shift from conventional video analytics to agentic computer vision.
Traditional video analytics can identify predefined objects, behaviors or events. Newer AI vision systems are attempting to understand more complex interactions within video and use that understanding to initiate or support subsequent actions.
cynapse.ai describes its platform as a way to turn passive video into operational intelligence, with AI agents capable of understanding video content, detecting risks and automating responses. The company has also positioned its technology as an additional intelligence layer that can work with existing video management systems rather than requiring organizations to replace their surveillance infrastructure.
That distinction could be important for transportation operators and other infrastructure owners. Large deployments can involve extensive camera networks, video-management systems and existing analytics hardware. Adding an AI intelligence layer to those environments can potentially provide new capabilities without requiring a wholesale replacement of the underlying infrastructure.
The companies have not disclosed specific technical specifications, deployment timelines or commercial terms for the upcoming Singapore projects.
Computer Vision Is Becoming More Agentic
The partnership arrives as computer vision itself is moving toward more autonomous and multimodal systems.
Gartner’s 2026 research describes a shift toward multimodal, agentic AI supported by real-time edge processing, while its research on vision AI says vendors are moving beyond passive observability toward autonomous, agentic execution.
Gartner also projects that the primary enterprise markets for computer vision will exceed $489 billion by 2034, with healthcare and security among the major areas driving growth. The research firm says vendors will increasingly need agentic orchestration to extend the capabilities of AI vision systems.
That trend creates a competitive field spanning traditional video analytics companies, physical-security technology providers, cloud AI platforms and specialized computer-vision vendors. Companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google and Amazon are also developing computer-vision, edge-AI and multimodal AI capabilities, although the Willowglen-cynapse.ai partnership is focused specifically on mission-critical video operations in Southeast Asia.
For infrastructure operators, the value proposition is less about generating another dashboard and more about reducing the gap between seeing an event and responding to it.
Southeast Asia Becomes a Testbed for AI Video Operations
The planned road, tunnel and airport projects provide concrete environments in which agentic video intelligence can be applied to operational problems.
Traffic monitoring can involve identifying incidents, congestion, unusual activity or other events across extensive road networks. Airport environments present a different combination of requirements around safety, security, passenger movement and operational coordination.
cynapse.ai has already been involved in video intelligence projects covering traffic management and smart parking enforcement. In September, the company received a Technology Innovation & Partnership Award from ST Engineering for contributions to those projects.
The Willowglen partnership therefore extends an existing technology direction rather than representing a standalone AI experiment. Its eventual impact will depend on how the systems perform in real-world environments, including accuracy, response latency, integration with existing infrastructure and the ability to maintain reliable performance across large camera networks.
For Southeast Asian infrastructure operators, the broader development reflects a shift in AI video technology: cameras are increasingly becoming sources of machine-interpretable operational data, while agentic systems are being designed to turn that data into actions and workflows.
Market Landscape
Computer vision is moving from rules-based detection toward multimodal and agentic systems capable of interpreting complex visual information. Gartner identifies agentic orchestration, vision-language models and real-time edge processing as important developments in AI vision intelligence. It projects enterprise computer-vision markets to exceed $489 billion by 2034.
