Seoul-based Nota AI, known for its AI model compression and optimization technology, has signed a technology supply contract to bring its NetsPresso® platform to FuriosaAI’s flagship NPU, the RNGD (“Renegade”). The deal signals a major expansion of Nota AI’s influence from mobile and edge devices into high-performance computing and data centers.
NetsPresso® can reduce AI model sizes by up to 90% without sacrificing accuracy, enabling faster inference and efficient deployment across hardware with varying specifications. By integrating with RNGD, Nota AI’s platform will help accelerate large-scale AI model performance, from industrial servers to AI data centers.
Strategic Partnership Beyond Supply
Alongside the supply contract, the two companies have agreed to a strategic partnership leveraging Nota Vision Agent (NVA), Nota AI’s vision AI solution. Combining NVA with RNGD, the partnership aims to create packaged solutions for industrial applications, paving the way for joint commercialization and revenue growth. This follows a technical cooperation MOU signed in November, establishing a collaboration from R&D to market-ready solutions.
FuriosaAI anticipates enhanced competitiveness and utility for its NPU products, while Nota AI plans to secure new industrial AI opportunities, including physical AI deployments, by offering lightweight, high-performance AI models integrated with FuriosaAI hardware.
Global Competitiveness and Korean AI Leadership
“This contract proves NetsPresso®’s commercial value in high-performance data centers, beyond mobile and edge devices,” said Myungsu Chae, CEO of Nota AI. “Our partnership with FuriosaAI highlights Korea’s AI technology on a global stage.”
June Paik, CEO of FuriosaAI, added: “Combining FuriosaAI’s innovative NPU with Nota AI’s optimization capabilities demonstrates the global competitiveness of Korean AI. Our solutions will deliver unmatched performance and efficiency in real-world industrial settings.”
This collaboration underscores a growing trend in AI model optimization for server and industrial NPUs, a space traditionally dominated by large cloud providers, positioning both companies to compete in high-performance AI infrastructure markets worldwide.
