GrubMarket, the AI-driven powerhouse transforming the American food supply chain, has raised approximately $50 million in a Series H financing round. The funding, led by Future Food Fund, Portfolia Funds, and other investors, values the company at a pre-money $4.5 billion, marking a significant step up for one of the world’s largest private food technology and eCommerce firms.
The round comes after a year of rapid expansion and product innovation. In 2025 alone, GrubMarket acquired Coast Citrus and Delta Fresh Produce, launched the first-ever Inventory Management AI Agent, rolled out a Reporting AI Agent for automated business insights, and acquired Procurant, a SaaS eCommerce platform handling $5.5 billion in annual GMV across 14 countries.
“GrubMarket has experienced incredible acceleration in growth over the last 12 months,” said CEO Mike Xu. “This funding isn’t about survival—it’s about scaling AI software, extending our eCommerce footprint globally, and investing in people, technology, and acquisitions, all while maintaining a self-sustaining business model.”
AI at the Core of the Modern Food Supply Chain
As the only enterprise AI solutions provider focused on the U.S. food supply chain, GrubMarket is a first mover in tech-enabled B2B food eCommerce, automating critical workflows from farm to table. Its software empowers retailers, distributors, and farmers with AI-driven inventory, analytics, and trading capabilities, helping the industry cut inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve margins.
GrubMarket’s tech innovations have earned industry recognition, including placement on CNBC Disruptor 50 for three consecutive years (2023–2025), “Inventory Management Solution Provider of the Year” by RetailTech Breakthrough, and the 2025 Sustainability in the Food Industry Award from The Shelby Report.
Global Footprint and Sustainability Initiatives
GrubMarket operates in all 50 U.S. states and has a presence in Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, India, Mexico, South Africa, and Spain, with plans for further global expansion. Its Sustainable California initiative, running since 2023, supports organic farming, reforestation, and technology deployment to strengthen California’s agricultural ecosystem. In 2025, initiatives included planting over 100,000 trees in Sierra Nevada, supporting farmers with free AI tools, and sponsoring socially disadvantaged farmers in organic certification programs.
Investor confidence reflects GrubMarket’s strong execution. Trish Costello, CEO of Portfolia Funds, noted: “Mike Xu and his team continue to redefine how food moves to our tables. Their consistent growth validates our conviction in GrubMarket’s leadership.” Hiro Hasegawa of Future Food Fund added: “We’re impressed by GrubMarket’s profitable growth trajectory and look forward to supporting its next phase of global expansion.”
With AI at its core and a scalable, profitable business model, GrubMarket is positioning itself as the definitive technology enabler for the modern food supply chain, setting a benchmark for competitors and redefining how produce moves from farms to consumers worldwide.
