Cybersecurity priorities across Switzerland are shifting as organizations confront a new generation of threats driven by artificial intelligence, evolving ransomware campaigns, and the future impact of quantum computing. According to the latest 2026 ISG Provider Lens® Cybersecurity – Services and Solutions report, enterprises are investing in cybersecurity services that combine AI-powered defense, regulatory expertise, and long-term cryptographic resilience while navigating tighter technology budgets.
The report suggests that Swiss organizations are balancing innovation with caution, seeking security providers capable of protecting increasingly complex digital environments without compromising data sovereignty or operational control.
Artificial intelligence has emerged as both a cybersecurity enabler and a growing attack vector. While enterprises are deploying AI to strengthen security operations, cybercriminals are using generative AI to create more convincing phishing campaigns, automate malware development, and launch increasingly sophisticated supply chain attacks.
According to ISG, these developments are driving greater demand for continuous threat detection and response, particularly through Security Operations Centers (SOCs) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. Nearly half of surveyed Western European technology decision-makers identified continuous threat protection among their highest cybersecurity implementation priorities, reflecting a broader shift toward proactive cyber defense.
Modern SOC and MDR providers are increasingly combining AI-driven analytics, automation, behavioral monitoring, and human expertise to identify and respond to threats more rapidly. This hybrid model enables organizations to reduce alert fatigue while improving incident response across increasingly distributed IT environments.
“The market increasingly requires providers that understand security for, with and against AI,” said Frank Heuer, Principal Analyst at ISG and lead author of the report, highlighting the growing need for cybersecurity strategies that address both AI-enabled defense and AI-powered attacks.
Beyond immediate cyber risks, the report identifies post-quantum cryptography as an emerging strategic priority for Swiss enterprises. Although large-scale quantum computers capable of breaking today’s widely used encryption algorithms remain under development, organizations are beginning to prepare for future cryptographic migration.
Industries with extensive digital assets—including banking, financial services, and insurance—are paying particular attention to this transition. ISG warns that threat actors are already employing “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” strategies, collecting encrypted data today with the expectation that future quantum computing capabilities could eventually decrypt it.
This evolving threat landscape is increasing demand for cryptographic discovery, encryption inventories, and migration planning well before commercial quantum computing becomes mainstream. Organizations are being encouraged to identify sensitive data, assess cryptographic dependencies, and develop long-term strategies for adopting post-quantum encryption standards.
Data sovereignty also remains a defining characteristic of Switzerland’s cybersecurity market. According to the report, many organizations—particularly government agencies and midsize enterprises—prefer locally operated cybersecurity services that align with Swiss regulatory expectations and support national requirements for trusted data handling.
Rather than outsourcing security entirely, enterprises increasingly seek modular cybersecurity services that can be adapted to operational requirements while maintaining visibility and governance over sensitive information. This approach reflects broader European priorities surrounding digital sovereignty and regulatory compliance.
Budget considerations continue to influence purchasing decisions as well. ISG notes growing demand for cost-optimized cybersecurity services, particularly among midsize organizations that require enterprise-grade protection without the complexity of large-scale security programs. Flexible service models are enabling organizations to strengthen cyber resilience while aligning investments with business priorities.
The report also highlights increasing convergence between IT operations and cybersecurity. Enterprises are looking for providers capable of delivering integrated technology and security services rather than treating cybersecurity as a standalone function. This integration is becoming particularly important as AI, cloud computing, hybrid work, and connected enterprise systems expand organizational attack surfaces.
The findings mirror broader industry developments. Technology companies including Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM, and Palo Alto Networks continue expanding AI-powered cybersecurity platforms capable of automating threat detection, security analytics, identity protection, and incident response. As organizations adopt generative AI across business operations, securing AI models and AI-enabled workflows is becoming an increasingly important component of enterprise cyber strategies.
ISG evaluated 38 cybersecurity providers across strategic security consulting, technical security services, and next-generation SOC/MDR offerings. InfoGuard and Swisscom emerged as Leaders across all five evaluation categories, reflecting strong capabilities across Switzerland’s cybersecurity landscape.
Other providers recognized as Leaders in multiple categories include Accenture, Atos, Deutsche Telekom, HCLTech, IBM, UMB, Capgemini, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Orange Cyberdefense, while Kudelski Security was identified as a Rising Star for its future growth potential. In customer experience, EY earned ISG’s 2026 CX Star Performer recognition based on customer satisfaction ratings from the firm’s Voice of the Customer survey.
Industry forecasts reinforce the report’s findings. According to Gartner, AI-assisted cybersecurity technologies are becoming essential components of modern security operations as organizations contend with increasingly automated attacks. Meanwhile, IDC expects global spending on cybersecurity solutions to continue growing as enterprises prioritize resilience, cloud security, AI governance, and cyber risk management.
For enterprise leaders, the report signals that cybersecurity is no longer focused solely on defending today’s threats. Organizations are increasingly preparing for an environment where AI, automation, and quantum computing fundamentally reshape both cyber defense and cyber risk, making long-term resilience a strategic business priority rather than simply an IT requirement.
