UBIDA, a global leader in cloud streaming media and AI technology, is partnering with Mackay Memorial Hospital to present cutting-edge AI multimodal medical robots at NVIDIA GTC Taiwan 2025. The presentation titled “AI-Enabled Medical Field: Multimodal Robot Collaboration from Mackay’s Case” will highlight how NVIDIA’s advanced technologies, including B200 GPUs, Omniverse™, Isaac™ GR00t, and Jetson AGX Orin™, power innovative robotics solutions that enhance smart healthcare delivery and patient experience.
Smart Medical Collaboration with AI-Driven Multimodal Robots
Together, UBIDA and Mackay Hospital have developed three intelligent robot types combining NVIDIA’s AI hardware and software with proprietary AI models:
- Wheel-guided robot: Acts as a virtual human assistant providing guidance, interactive companionship, and help with registration—delivering personalized and empathetic patient support.
- Humanoid robots: Using NVIDIA Isaac GR00t N1, these robots perform autonomous tasks such as sample transport and material handling in unmanned environments, optimizing medical logistics efficiency.
- Quadruped robots: Equipped with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin™, Isaac GR00t ReMemBr memory, and X-mobility tech, these robots access hazardous areas for environmental monitoring, including gas detection and heat source sensing, feeding real-time data to reduce medical risks.
All robots run on NVIDIA B200 GPUs leveraging Llama 4 large language models and NVIDIA Riva technology to enable natural language interaction and emotional communication, enhancing patient engagement with mixed real and cartoon visualizations.
Virtual Simulation Accelerates Deployment
The collaboration employs NVIDIA Omniverse™ and Isaac Sim™ to simulate virtual hospital scenarios for robot training, collaboration, and task rehearsals. This approach reduces deployment costs and risks, accelerates rollouts, and optimizes workflows ahead of physical robot deployment.
Rongchang Guo, CEO of UBIDA, emphasized, “Partnering with Mackay Hospital to integrate NVIDIA’s full spectrum of smart medical technologies helps create Taiwan’s first smart hospital powered by NVIDIA B200 GPUs, showcasing AI’s transformative potential in healthcare.”
Driving Future Smart Healthcare Innovation
UBIDA plans to deepen collaborations with Mackay Hospital and NVIDIA to expand AI and multimodal robotics applications across emergency care, hospitalization, rehabilitation, and long-term care. The aim is to develop flexible, scalable smart healthcare solutions that integrate seamlessly into clinical operations to continuously elevate care quality and efficiency.
The Director of Mackay Hospital remarked, “This partnership improves patient service quality while optimizing hospital workflow and safety management. Our staff recognize AI robots’ tangible benefits in patient guidance, logistics, and safety inspections, significantly reducing workload and boosting operational efficiency.”
