Netrio, a global managed service provider (MSP) focused on modernizing and securing IT environments for mid-market enterprises, has appointed cybersecurity veteran Kevin Charest as Vice President of Cyber Governance Services. This new leadership move strengthens Netrio’s global cybersecurity strategy at a time when threats are growing more complex and regulatory pressures intensify.
Charest brings over 30 years of experience across public and private sectors, including senior roles as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a Fortune-level enterprise and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. His background spans large-scale cybersecurity programs, enterprise risk management, compliance, and advanced threat detection across distributed IT environments. A Ph.D. holder in Cybersecurity with an MBA and a computer science degree, Charest is also a veteran of both the U.S. Marine Corps and Army.
“Kevin’s depth of experience and leadership in cybersecurity are unmatched,” said Gina Murphy, Netrio President and Chief Transformation Officer. “As threats continue to evolve and security demands grow, Kevin’s strategic vision and operational expertise will be instrumental in elevating our cybersecurity capabilities and helping our customers stay secure, compliant, and resilient.”
In his new role, Charest will expand Netrio’s cybersecurity services, enhance integration of advanced security frameworks, and foster strategic alliances with security technology partners. He will also collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine Netrio’s AI-driven security solutions, blending intelligent automation with human-led oversight for proactive risk management and threat intelligence.
“Organizations of all sizes face an increasingly complex threat landscape,” Charest said. “Integrating strategic security practices with intelligent automation is critical. I look forward to leading the Netrio cybersecurity team to deliver comprehensive, customer-centric solutions that empower businesses to defend and thrive.”
Netrio’s move signals a broader trend in the MSP and cybersecurity sectors: mid-market enterprises are increasingly investing in integrated AI-driven cybersecurity solutions while leaning on experienced leadership to navigate regulatory and threat complexities. Charest’s appointment positions Netrio to better compete with rivals offering hybrid human-AI security models, particularly as compliance standards tighten across healthcare, finance, and government sectors.
For mid-market enterprises looking to modernize IT and fortify security, Netrio’s latest leadership hire underscores the company’s commitment to blending strategic insight, AI technology, and hands-on expertise—a combination that could redefine expectations for MSP-driven cybersecurity services.
