ERP software is supposed to bring order to a company’s operations. Implementing it can be a very different story.
Large enterprise resource planning projects frequently involve requirements gathering, configuration, data migration, testing, training and a long sequence of approvals. Progress can become difficult for business teams to track, while consultants spend substantial time maintaining documentation and coordinating decisions.

The company has announced general availability of Cadence by neo³, an AI-assisted ERP implementation platform designed to turn the implementation process into a continuously visible, subscription-based service rather than a traditional capital project.
The company is targeting 90 days to go-live for qualified projects.
That timeline is ambitious. More important, however, is the architectural change behind it: NEO3 is combining AI-assisted documentation with a structured implementation workflow and human consultant review.
An ERP implementation that behaves more like software
Cadence provides clients with a live view of an implementation, including its current stage, percentage completed, completed tasks, upcoming work and a single stated next action.
The system divides an implementation into nine stages. Each stage is presented as a card containing submitted documents, outstanding questions and recorded decisions.
The idea is straightforward: replace some of the traditional status-management machinery around ERP projects with a persistent digital workspace.
That could matter for organizations where executives and business users have historically depended on weekly meetings or consultant-produced slide decks to understand whether an ERP project is actually on schedule.
The platform’s AI component is designed to generate first-pass requirements, scope and configuration documentation. NEO3 consultants then review and correct those outputs before they reach customers.

Training AI on implementation experience
NEO3’s more interesting differentiator is the data behind Cadence.
Rather than positioning the system as another general-purpose AI chatbot, the company says its AI has been trained using knowledge from more than 400 previous ERP implementations.
That creates a potentially valuable feedback loop.
ERP consulting generates large quantities of structured and unstructured knowledge: requirements, configuration decisions, migration problems, implementation patterns and lessons from projects that went wrong.

That human-in-the-loop model is particularly important in ERP.
A mistaken configuration recommendation can affect financial reporting, inventory, procurement or other core business processes. Enterprise AI systems therefore need more than fluent responses; they need traceability, review mechanisms and clear accountability.
Data migration remains the hard part
One of the platform’s biggest claims concerns ERP data conversion.
Data migration is often one of the most complicated components of an ERP deployment because companies may be moving information from legacy systems with inconsistent formats, duplicated records and incomplete data.
Cadence spreads data conversion across three of its nine implementation stages: setup data, core data and go-live data.
The platform uses AI to cleanse, map and validate records and flag exceptions for consultant review.

For customers, that could be useful if the same platform and consulting relationship supports future configuration changes and expansion.
But subscription pricing does not automatically make ERP cheaper. Enterprise buyers will still need to evaluate total cost of ownership, contract terms, implementation scope, integration requirements and the cost of remaining dependent on the service provider.
How Cadence fits into the ERP market
Cadence enters a market dominated by established ERP ecosystems including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Infor, alongside hundreds of implementation partners and specialized consulting firms.
Those vendors are themselves adding AI capabilities.
Microsoft is embedding Copilot capabilities across Dynamics 365. SAP is incorporating AI through Joule and its broader Business AI strategy. Oracle is similarly integrating generative AI into its cloud applications.
NEO3’s differentiation is therefore not simply “AI for ERP.”
Its proposition is that AI should change how ERP implementation itself is delivered, including documentation, data conversion, project visibility and ongoing consulting.
That is a narrower but potentially more defensible position.
What enterprise buyers should watch
For CIOs and CFOs evaluating ERP modernization, the key question will be whether AI can reduce implementation friction without introducing new operational risks.

The bigger trend is clear.
ERP implementation is becoming another enterprise workflow where AI can automate repetitive work while experienced professionals remain responsible for judgment.
If that model works at scale, the impact could extend beyond faster documentation. It could change how companies budget for ERP projects, how consultants spend their time and how long organizations expect implementation partners to remain involved.
