Lumana and Convergint Bring AI Video Security to Enterprises

Lumana and Convergint Expand AI Video Security Lumana and Convergint Expand AI Video Security

Lumana and Convergint have partnered to expand access to AI-powered video security for enterprise, mid-market and public sector organizations. The agreement combines Lumana’s camera-agnostic video intelligence platform with Convergint’s global security integration and field service network, allowing customers to add AI-driven monitoring and incident analysis to existing camera infrastructure. The approach aims to make security footage more actionable without requiring organizations to replace their installed cameras.

Lumana and Convergint Expand AI Video Security Deployment

Security cameras generate large volumes of footage, but reviewing that material manually can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. For organizations operating across multiple facilities, the challenge is not simply recording events but identifying relevant activity quickly enough to support investigations and security operations.

AI video security provider Lumana and technology-enabled security services company Convergint are partnering to address that challenge. Under the agreement, Convergint’s global network of Technology Centers can design, quote, deploy and service Lumana’s AI video security platform for enterprise, mid-market and public sector customers.

The partnership combines software-based video analysis with systems integration and ongoing service support. It also offers organizations a route to introduce AI capabilities into existing IP camera environments rather than replacing their installed hardware, subject to compatibility and deployment requirements.

The companies did not disclose financial terms, customer commitments or projected revenue from the partnership.

Turning Existing Cameras Into Sources of Intelligence

Lumana’s platform is designed to analyze video feeds and help security teams identify events, generate alerts and surface information that can support investigations. Instead of relying exclusively on personnel to watch live feeds or review recorded footage, organizations can use AI to help identify activity that warrants attention.

The company’s approach is camera-agnostic, meaning it is designed to work with compatible camera systems from different manufacturers. That could reduce the need for a complete hardware replacement when an organization upgrades its video security capabilities.

For businesses with extensive existing camera networks, retaining current equipment can simplify the path to modernization. However, actual deployment requirements will depend on camera compatibility, network architecture, processing capacity and the specific analytics being used.

Lumana co-founder and CEO Sagi Ben Moshe said Convergint’s knowledge of complex facilities and camera infrastructure complements Lumana’s AI platform. The companies aim to help enterprise and public sector customers turn security video into information that teams can use to identify and investigate potential threats.

VIA-1 and a Hybrid-Cloud Architecture

At the center of Lumana’s platform is VIA-1, its proprietary video intelligence model. The company says the model continually learns from the environments in which it is deployed.

Lumana describes its architecture as distributed and hybrid-cloud. Video analysis is processed locally on-premises, while the cloud supports advanced analysis of incidents flagged for review, remote management and software updates.

Local processing can reduce the amount of video data that must travel across a network and may help support low-latency detection. It can also limit the transfer of raw video to cloud infrastructure. Those benefits depend on how a particular deployment is configured, what information is sent to the cloud and which functions require remote processing.

The announcement does not provide independent performance benchmarks for VIA-1, quantify bandwidth savings or specify detection accuracy across different environments. The company’s claims about latency and data privacy therefore should be evaluated against the requirements and configuration of each deployment.

Lumana says its platform addresses compliance requirements and supports SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA and NDAA-related requirements. These standards and regulations cover different aspects of security, privacy and procurement, so organizations should confirm which specific controls, certifications and product configurations apply to their intended use case.

Integration Becomes Part of the AI Security Proposition

Convergint will provide the integration and service layer for customers adopting Lumana’s technology. Its Technology Centers can support solution design, quotations, deployment and ongoing service, connecting the AI platform with each customer’s broader security environment.

That role matters because enterprise video security is rarely a standalone software purchase. Implementations may involve existing cameras, video management systems, access controls, network infrastructure, security operations centers and established incident-response procedures.

Convergint Vice President of Partners and Alliances Joe Young said the partnership expands the AI-enabled video options available to customers while maintaining a focus on their individual security and operational requirements.

The companies identify retail, manufacturing, higher education, healthcare, sports venues and large enterprises among the environments where Lumana’s platform is deployed. These settings have different monitoring needs, from investigating incidents and protecting facilities to managing activity across large or distributed sites.

AI video analysis can help security teams prioritize footage, but automated alerts are not a substitute for appropriate human review, access controls and documented response procedures. Organizations also need to consider how video data is retained, who can access it and how monitoring complies with applicable privacy and workplace rules.

A Practical Route to AI-Enabled Security

The Lumana–Convergint agreement reflects a broader approach to enterprise AI adoption: adding intelligence to existing infrastructure through a combination of software, integration and managed support.

For organizations with established camera networks, the proposition is to modernize video operations without automatically undertaking a full hardware refresh. Convergint’s deployment capabilities may also help customers connect the platform with the operational realities of their facilities.

The practical value will depend on integration effort, alert quality, reliability, privacy controls and the extent to which AI reduces the work required to find relevant footage. Neither company announced comparative customer results or independent measurements of those outcomes.

Convergint Technology Centers are now able to design, quote, deploy and service Lumana AI video solutions. Customers can contact Lumana at sales@lumana.ai or reach out to a local Convergint Technology Center for further information.

Market Landscape

AI video security is moving beyond conventional recording toward automated detection, event search and investigation support. For large organizations, adoption depends not only on AI models but also on compatibility with existing cameras, local processing requirements, cybersecurity controls and integration with established security operations.

Lumana and Convergint are positioning their partnership around those implementation requirements. Lumana supplies the video intelligence platform, while Convergint offers a route to deployment and ongoing service. The announcement does not include independent accuracy benchmarks, measured operational savings or comparative customer results, leaving those outcomes to be assessed through specific deployments.
