Klook has launched K.ai, an agentic AI platform designed to help travel experiences merchants automate bookings, inventory management, pricing updates, and other business operations through its merchant portal. Unlike conventional AI assistants that primarily answer questions or recommend actions, K.ai can execute instructions and make operational changes on behalf of merchants. The platform is being introduced through a phased global rollout ahead of the year-end travel season. Targeting small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), the initiative highlights how agentic AI is moving beyond enterprise productivity tools into specialized business applications, where autonomous systems can reduce administrative workloads and help smaller operators manage digital commerce.

Klook Brings Agentic AI to Travel Experiences Merchants

Klook is expanding its artificial intelligence strategy with K.ai, an AI agent designed to execute routine business tasks for travel experiences merchants directly through the company’s merchant portal.

The platform targets a segment of the travel industry that remains heavily dependent on manual processes. Tour operators, attraction providers, activity organizers, and other experience-based businesses frequently manage bookings, availability, inventory, and pricing across multiple operational workflows. For smaller merchants without dedicated technology or administrative teams, these tasks can consume time that would otherwise go toward customer service and business development.

K.ai is designed to reduce that workload by combining business information retrieval with task execution. Merchants can ask the agent questions about bookings and business performance, then instruct it to make operational changes without navigating multiple portal menus.

For example, a merchant can request a report covering the previous week’s bookings and subsequently ask the agent to increase weekend pricing by 10%. K.ai retrieves the relevant information and applies the requested update through the merchant platform.

This distinction between conversational assistance and operational execution is central to the launch. Rather than simply explaining how to update inventory or pricing, the agent is designed to complete those actions.

Agentic AI Targets a Fragmented Travel Market

Klook’s strategy addresses a digitization gap in the global experiences market.

According to figures attributed to Euromonitor in the company’s announcement, approximately 34% of experiences bookings are made online, compared with 66% for accommodation and 81% for flights. The difference illustrates how much of the tours, activities, and attractions market still operates through offline or fragmented distribution channels.

Small and medium-sized operators account for approximately 95% of the experiences sector, according to Klook. Many lack the technology infrastructure and resources needed to manage digital distribution efficiently.

The company has built its business around connecting these merchants with travelers through an online marketplace. K.ai extends that model by bringing AI-powered operational tools into the existing merchant infrastructure.

This is an important shift in the travel technology market. Digital marketplaces have traditionally focused on helping suppliers publish products, reach customers, and process transactions. Agentic AI introduces another layer: automating the operational activities required to manage those products after they become available online.

For Klook, improving merchant productivity could also strengthen the quality and availability of inventory across its marketplace.

Operational Results Point to Faster Merchant Workflows

Klook reports measurable efficiency improvements among merchants using K.ai. Individual inventory and pricing updates are completed 95% faster, while batch checks covering products, inventory, and orders are 97% faster than the previous manual processes.

The company also reports that merchants using K.ai recorded 3.4 times as many monthly bookings as merchants not using the agent.

These figures suggest a potential commercial benefit beyond administrative automation. Faster inventory and pricing adjustments can help experience providers respond to demand fluctuations, manage available capacity, and capture last-minute bookings.

However, the reported booking difference should not be interpreted as proof that K.ai directly generates 3.4 times more bookings. Merchant size, product popularity, location, existing digital maturity, and adoption patterns could also influence the comparison. Klook has not disclosed the methodology or sample size behind these early results.

The experience of MyProGuide, a Taiwan-based tour operator, illustrates the operational use case. Its co-founder, Erica Yu, says the company previously spent approximately an hour each morning updating prices and availability across tours. With K.ai, merchants can issue instructions conversationally rather than repeat the same changes across multiple portal workflows.

AI Moves From Back-Office Automation to Business Intelligence

K.ai also extends beyond booking and inventory management into product creation and business analysis.

Its one-click product listing feature allows merchants to upload existing materials and have the agent generate structured listings with pre-filled information. Merchants can review and edit the generated content before publication, potentially reducing the administrative work involved in bringing new tours and activities online.

The platform also analyzes customer reviews and business performance data through its Reviews and Dashboard pages. It identifies changes in performance, highlights possible contributing factors, and surfaces opportunities to improve products and customer experiences.

This gives smaller operators access to analytical capabilities that might otherwise require dedicated business intelligence resources.

The approach is particularly relevant to a sector where independent operators often lack specialized teams for technology, marketing, and revenue management.

Travel Platforms Enter the Agentic AI Competition

Klook’s launch also fits into a broader shift toward agentic commerce, where AI systems move beyond recommending products to completing operational or transactional tasks.

The company is pursuing this strategy on both sides of its marketplace. While K.ai helps merchants manage their businesses, Klook has also partnered with Meta’s Muse to enable travelers to discover and book experiences through conversational AI.

This creates a two-sided opportunity: AI can simplify how travelers discover experiences while reducing the operational friction that prevents smaller suppliers from participating effectively in digital distribution.

For Klook, the longer-term opportunity is to make its marketplace more efficient by connecting merchant operations, inventory availability, pricing, customer feedback, and travel demand through AI-driven workflows.

The platform’s phased global rollout will provide an early indication of whether merchants are comfortable delegating operational tasks to AI agents. Questions around permissions, pricing accuracy, approval controls, and accountability will remain important as these systems take on more responsibility.

Ultimately, K.ai represents a move from AI as a business assistant toward AI as an operational tool. Its commercial value will depend on whether it can consistently execute merchant instructions accurately while helping smaller travel businesses compete in an increasingly digital experiences economy.

Market Landscape

The travel experiences industry is entering a new phase of AI adoption, with agentic AI increasingly being applied to merchant operations, inventory management, pricing, and customer engagement.

According to Phocuswright’s 2026 research, only 33% of travel experiences bookings were made online in 2025, compared with 64% across the broader travel market. More than 70% of experience operators are small or micro-businesses, highlighting the fragmentation of the sector.

Five developments are shaping this market:

  • Agentic commerce: AI agents are moving from product recommendations toward executing transactions and business workflows.
  • SME digital transformation: Travel marketplaces are embedding AI into merchant tools to reduce technology and administrative barriers.
  • Automated revenue management: AI-powered pricing and inventory adjustments can help operators respond to changing demand.
  • AI-powered business intelligence: Customer reviews and booking data are becoming inputs for automated operational recommendations.
  • Conversational business management: Natural-language interfaces are reducing the complexity of managing digital commerce platforms.

Klook’s approach is particularly interesting because it applies agentic AI to the supply side of travel commerce, rather than focusing exclusively on traveler-facing booking assistants.
