IBM has announced a strategic collaboration with Oracle to bring its flagship watsonx AI portfolio to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This expanded partnership focuses on multi-agent AI workflows, empowering enterprises to integrate AI seamlessly across their operations and increase productivity and efficiency through intelligent, autonomous agents.
Features and Offerings:
- Watsonx Orchestrate for Multi-Agent Workflows
IBM will introduce watsonx Orchestrate on OCI in July, enabling customers to build and manage AI agents that span multi-agent, multi-system workflows. These workflows will connect both Oracle and non-Oracle applications and data sources, initially addressing HR use cases. IBM’s AI agents will perform inference tasks on OCI, integrating into enterprise systems for enhanced data management and productivity. - Granite Models on OCI Data Science
To further enhance AI offerings, Oracle will host IBM Granite AI models on OCI Data Science. These compact, efficient models provide users with greater flexibility and faster access to tailored AI solutions, streamlining the deployment of AI in businesses. - IBM Software on OCI
IBM’s watsonx.ai, a leading AI development studio, is now certified to run on OCI, allowing businesses to leverage Oracle’s scalable and performant infrastructure for AI applications. Organizations can now build, manage, and deploy AI services natively on OCI. - IBM Envizi ESG Suite for Sustainability
Oracle and IBM also plan to launch IBM Envizi ESG Suite on OCI in Saudi Arabia within the next year. This enterprise sustainability solution helps companies manage and report their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data efficiently.
Consulting Services Expansion:
- IBM Consulting will offer expanded services to assist enterprises in deploying AI agents across various platforms and transforming end-to-end business processes. IBM will help integrate AI-powered assets like watsonx Orchestrate AI agents with Oracle AI agents, optimizing operations in key areas such as HR, supply chain, and business transformation.
- IBM’s consulting services will also support Oracle customers in migrating workloads to Red Hat OpenShift on OCI, providing flexible infrastructure for legacy applications and AI workloads.
Industry Impact:
This collaboration between IBM and Oracle represents a significant leap forward in AI-powered business transformation. By enabling multi-agent workflows and integrating AI across enterprise functions, the partnership will drive productivity and innovation across industries, helping businesses adopt AI at scale and unlock new efficiencies.
