Genesis Automation Healthcare is making its first public appearance as a unified company at AHRMM26, where it plans to showcase an AI-powered platform designed to modernize hospital supply chains and improve operating room efficiency.
The debut comes after the merger of three healthcare technology companies—Genesis (inventory management), Kermit (implant and spend management), and Meperia (content and contract management)—bringing their capabilities under a single Clinical Lifecycle Management Platform. At the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) Annual Conference & Exhibition, taking place July 26–28 in San Antonio, Texas, the company will also introduce an agentic AI solution aimed at tackling one of healthcare’s most expensive operational challenges: surgical supply chain management.
As hospitals increasingly turn to AI and automation to address staffing shortages, rising costs, and supply chain disruptions, Genesis is positioning itself as a technology partner focused on improving both financial performance and patient care.
Unified Platform Brings Three Healthcare Technologies Together
Genesis says its Clinical Lifecycle Management Platform gives hospitals end-to-end visibility across what it calls The Clinical Supply Lifecycle™, connecting inventory management, contract oversight, implant tracking, and spending analytics into a single platform.
The unified solution is intended to help healthcare providers streamline procurement, monitor inventory, reduce waste, and identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing patient safety.
The company’s newly announced leadership team—including President Jason Smith, Senior Vice President of Global Sales Elizabeth Goddard, Global Vice President of Client Success and Professional Services Patti Hoch, and Vice President of Product Charles Ribeiro—will attend the event to introduce the combined organization to healthcare supply chain leaders.
According to Smith, the platform is designed to balance operational efficiency with patient outcomes by providing hospitals with greater visibility into clinical supply operations.
Agentic AI Targets Operating Room Spending
The centerpiece of Genesis’ AHRMM26 showcase is its new agentic AI capability for surgical supply chain management.
Unlike traditional analytics tools that rely heavily on manual reporting, the AI agent is designed to proactively identify operational issues across operating room workflows.
According to the company, the system can detect:
- Contract pricing drift
- Billing discrepancies
- Surgical preference card deviations
- Supply chain inefficiencies
Genesis says the AI has been developed using clinical signals from more than 1.64 million surgical procedures, enabling it to surface anomalies that may otherwise go unnoticed during routine hospital operations.
The announcement reflects a broader healthcare trend toward autonomous AI systems capable of supporting complex administrative and operational decisions rather than simply generating reports or responding to prompts.
New Design Partner Program Invites Hospitals to Shape AI Development
Alongside the platform preview, Genesis is launching its Agentic AI Design Partner Program, giving hospitals and health systems an opportunity to help shape the technology before broader deployment.
Healthcare organizations across the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland will be invited to test the AI using their own operational data, evaluate its recommendations, and determine how autonomous decision-making should fit within existing governance and compliance frameworks.
The collaborative approach comes as healthcare providers increasingly demand transparency and human oversight when deploying AI into clinical and operational environments.
By involving customers early, Genesis hopes to build greater trust while ensuring the technology aligns with real-world hospital workflows.
Educational Sessions Highlight AI and Automation
Genesis will also participate in two educational sessions during AHRMM26.
The first, “The Agent in the Room: Turning OR Spend into Savings with Agentic AI,” will feature President Jason Smith discussing how AI can identify hidden costs across operating room supply chains and improve contract compliance.
A second Learning Lab, “Reducing OR Bill-Only Discrepancies Through Automation,” will showcase how Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is using automation to reduce billing complexity in surgical environments. The session will be presented by Scott Meiser, Vice President of Supply Chain at AHN, alongside Genesis Vice President of Client Services Marisa Bartemes.
Both sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, July 28.
Claimed Customer Impact
Genesis says the combined customer base now includes more than 400 hospitals and health systems across the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland.
According to company figures, healthcare organizations using its platform have collectively achieved:
- $760 million in cost savings
- More than 4,000 clinical hours redirected toward patient care
- 38% reduction in on-hand inventory
While these performance metrics have not been independently verified, they highlight the growing emphasis healthcare providers are placing on automation to improve operational efficiency while managing financial pressures.
Why It Matters
Healthcare supply chains have become a major focus for AI investment as hospitals seek to reduce waste, improve inventory visibility, and offset staffing shortages without compromising patient care.
While generative AI has dominated headlines, a growing number of healthcare technology vendors are now developing agentic AI systems capable of monitoring operations, identifying exceptions, and recommending actions with minimal manual intervention.
Genesis Automation Healthcare’s unified platform signals its ambition to compete in that emerging market by combining supply chain intelligence, automation, and AI into a single operational platform. Whether hospitals embrace autonomous AI at scale will depend on factors including accuracy, regulatory compliance, and trust—but the industry’s shift toward more intelligent supply chain management is clearly gaining momentum.
