EY and Blue Planet Forge Alliance to Modernize Telecom Networks with AI-Driven Automation
The EY organization and Ciena’s Blue Planet division are teaming up to help network operators and cloud providers leave behind legacy systems and embrace a more agile, automated future. The newly announced EY–Blue Planet Alliance aims to speed up digital transformation across the telecom industry by combining EY’s deep consulting and integration experience with Blue Planet’s cloud-native OSS platform.
For Communications Service Providers (CSPs) navigating complex infrastructure and customer demands, this partnership promises to make inventory management, orchestration, and assurance faster, smarter, and more scalable.
“This alliance builds on successful real-world deployments and allows us to better coordinate with EY to help CSPs fast-track digital transformation,” said Joe Cumello, SVP and GM at Blue Planet.
Lumen Technologies: A First-Mover in the Alliance
Lumen Technologies, a major North American network provider, is already onboard. The company is tapping the EY–Blue Planet collaboration to overhaul its network inventory systems, betting on a modern OSS foundation to support the next wave of product and service delivery.
“This is our largest network inventory transformation yet,” said Alexandre Mercier-Dalphond, SVP of Infrastructure and Operations at Lumen. “We’re confident this alliance will help us meet key strategic goals.”
What’s at Stake: OSS as the Cornerstone of Telecom Innovation
At the core of the partnership is Blue Planet’s AI-native OSS platform, a modern take on telecom operations software that supports automated service delivery across multivendor, multidomain networks. Historically, OSS has been a pain point for CSPs—complex, outdated, and resistant to change. The EY–Blue Planet Alliance positions itself as an answer to that challenge.

And in a nod to strategic intent, EY also announced Ludvic Baquie as the new leader for the alliance, signaling long-term commitment and growth.
