Cisco and ServiceNow today announced a major strategic partnership designed to help businesses adopt and scale artificial intelligence securely and confidently. By integrating Cisco’s AI Defense capabilities with ServiceNow’s SecOps and AI governance platform, the collaboration provides a unified solution for managing AI-related risk, compliance, and operational workflows—paving the way for trusted enterprise-wide AI deployment.
“The integration of ServiceNow and Cisco AI Defense is game-changing,” said Jeetu Patel, EVP and Chief Product Officer at Cisco. “It gives enterprises a single source of truth for AI risk management, even as models evolve.”
The Challenge: AI Growth Outpaces Traditional Security Models
As AI becomes core to business transformation, enterprises are facing a new breed of risk—from data governance gaps to runtime vulnerabilities in emerging models. Traditional cybersecurity tools weren’t built to secure dynamic AI systems or align with compliance needs at scale.
A recent 451 Research study cited that 36% of enterprise security budgets are spent with a single vendor—a reflection of the desire for more integrated, simplified solutions.
“Security teams often lack visibility into where AI is used or how secure it is,” said Amit Zavery, President, Chief Product Officer, and COO at ServiceNow. “By aligning Cisco’s AI security with ServiceNow’s control tower model, we give customers true operational trust in their AI systems.”
What the Cisco-ServiceNow Integration Delivers
Together, the two tech leaders will provide mutual customers with an end-to-end, platform-level approach to secure AI adoption:
Visibility
- Cisco AI Defense detects and maps AI workloads to apps and services managed in ServiceNow.
Vulnerability Management
- Automated AI vulnerability scanning feeds into ServiceNow Vulnerability Response, enabling triage and mitigation.
Real-Time Protection
- Cisco’s AI Runtime Protection integrates with ServiceNow Security Posture Control, identifying coverage gaps and optimizing risk prioritization.
Incident Response
- Telemetry from AI systems is shared with ServiceNow Security Incident Response to support threat detection and rapid investigation.
Governance & Compliance
- Cisco AI Defense controls are mapped to regulatory standards in ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM), making compliance demonstrable and manageable.
Timeline and Availability
Initial field trials begin soon, with general availability for joint Cisco-ServiceNow customers expected in the second half of 2025. Future integrations are planned to expand across both companies’ cloud, networking, observability, and automation platforms.
Why It Matters: Simplifying AI for the Enterprise
As AI redefines business processes, infrastructure, and risk, Cisco and ServiceNow are stepping up with platform-based solutions that address complexity and governance—without slowing innovation.
From SaaS to shadow AI and internal LLMs, the integrated offering aims to secure the entire AI application lifecycle, regardless of deployment method.
A New Era of Trusted AI
This deepened collaboration marks a turning point in AI operationalization, enabling organizations to scale with confidence, trust, and visibility.
“Security doesn’t have to slow AI down—it can be the accelerator,” said Patel.
