Embodied AI is moving from controlled demonstrations into complex commercial environments. AGIBOT and Chimelong Group have begun deploying more than 300 robots across Chimelong Spaceship Park, hotels and visitor operations, creating a large-scale test of how autonomous machines can work together across entertainment, education and hospitality.
The deployment is notable because the robots are not being positioned as a single attraction. They are being integrated into multiple points of the visitor journey, including live performances, science education, guided tours, retail service stations, companion experiences, hotel services and sports activities.
Visitors can interact with robots through table tennis and manipulation challenges, while robotic systems also perform martial arts, gymnastics and tai chi. Elsewhere, robots can answer questions, introduce exhibits, provide directions and guide visitors through designated areas.
Hotel applications extend the use case into hospitality. Robots can welcome guests, conduct multi-turn conversations and deliver more personalized interactions, illustrating how embodied AI can combine physical movement with conversational AI.
The project also provides a practical example of multi-robot coordination. Rather than operating individual machines independently, the deployment connects robots with centralized coordination, dedicated connectivity and operational safeguards across different areas of the park and hotel environments.
China Mobile is supporting the project with a dedicated 5G-A network, designed to provide stable connectivity for robot interactions in high-traffic areas. Network security, privacy protection, charging infrastructure and fire-safety measures are also part of the operating framework.
That infrastructure matters as robotics moves toward larger deployments. A robot that works reliably in a controlled demonstration still needs connectivity, fleet management, maintenance and safety systems when hundreds of machines operate around customers and employees.
AGIBOT’s announcement also coincides with the production of its 20,000th robot, which was delivered to Chimelong as part of the deployment. The company and Chimelong have established a joint research institute focused on embodied AI applications in culture and tourism, with the stated goal of using operational experience to investigate additional applications and deployment models.
The project illustrates a broader transition in AI: intelligence is increasingly being paired with physical systems capable of sensing environments, interacting with people and performing tasks in the real world. Companies including NVIDIA, Google, Microsoft and Amazon are developing different layers of the physical-AI ecosystem, from robotics compute and simulation to AI models and cloud infrastructure.
For enterprises evaluating embodied AI, Chimelong’s deployment highlights a key distinction from conventional automation. The challenge is not simply acquiring capable robots; it is building the connectivity, coordination, safety and operational infrastructure required to run them at scale.
Market Landscape
Embodied AI is developing into a broader technology category encompassing robotics hardware, AI models, computer vision, sensors, edge computing, simulation, connectivity and fleet orchestration.
IDC identifies physical AI as a major investment area and projects the global robotics market to exceed $40 billion by 2029. The research firm also describes physical AI as systems that can perceive their surroundings, make decisions and act in physical environments.
The Chimelong deployment reflects this shift from isolated robotic demonstrations toward integrated environments. Its combination of 300-plus robots, 5G-A connectivity and centralized coordination demonstrates the infrastructure requirements involved when autonomous machines become part of everyday commercial operations.
For enterprises, the emerging competitive question is therefore broader than robot capability. Integration with existing systems, network reliability, safety controls, fleet management, privacy and operating economics will increasingly determine whether embodied AI can move from pilots into sustained production.
