SuperX and Zhonhen Partner to Deliver Energy-Efficient AI Compute Power
Super X AI Technology Limited (NASDAQ: SUPX) announced a strategic joint venture with Zhonhen Electric and affiliates to form SuperX Digital Power Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. This partnership aims to tackle one of the AI industry’s most pressing challenges: the explosive energy demands of next-generation AI data centers (AIDCs).
The venture combines SuperX’s AI compute infrastructure expertise with Zhonhen Electric’s high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, enabling a fully integrated “Compute + Power” solution for global customers.
HVDC: Redefining Power Architecture for AI
As GPUs like NVIDIA’s Blackwell series push single-rack power beyond 100kW, traditional alternating current (AC) architectures have become a bottleneck. Multiple AC-DC conversions cause 10–15% energy losses, increase complexity, and raise total cost of ownership (TCO). HVDC technology simplifies power delivery with a DC-to-chip architecture, offering:
- Higher Efficiency: End-to-end energy efficiency jumps from ~85–90% to over 96%, reducing electricity loss and OPEX.
- Smaller Footprint: Fewer UPS and power distribution units free up to 50% of floor space, maximizing compute density.
- Enhanced Reliability: Fewer conversion steps mean fewer failure points and better compatibility with battery storage.
- Lower TCO: Savings in electricity, equipment, and maintenance can cut data center TCO by more than 20%.
HVDC is increasingly viewed as essential rather than optional for AI data centers, especially with NVIDIA’s Rubin Ultra NVL576 expected to reach 600kW per rack by 2027.
Zhonhen: China’s HVDC Standard-Setter
Zhonhen’s HVDC technology is deployed at scale by China Mobile, China Telecom, Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu, establishing its reputation for stability and performance in powering critical digital infrastructure. By bringing this expertise to SuperX’s global footprint, the venture positions itself as a first-mover in international high-efficiency AI data centers.
Strategic Impact for SuperX
The joint venture strengthens SuperX’s end-to-end AI infrastructure offerings, integrating power, compute, and cooling for optimized performance and TCO. Key benefits include:
- Full-Stack Solution: From AI servers to HVDC power, SuperX can now offer fully optimized data center deployments.
- Technology Moat: Deep integration between HVDC, compute, and cooling solutions creates a competitive edge.
- Global Expansion: Zhonhen’s proven technology can now be deployed internationally through SuperX’s channels.
“The race in AI is also a race for energy efficiency,” said Kenny Sng, CTO of SuperX. “This partnership establishes a new global standard for energy-efficient AI data centers, enabling clients to scale computational resources with reduced environmental impact.”
With SuperX Digital Power, energy-efficient, high-density AI infrastructure is no longer a distant goal—it’s a scalable reality.
