Formerly Wonder Studio, the AI-powered VFX platform is now more affordable than ever—bringing Hollywood-grade tools to anyone with a camera and an idea.
At SIGGRAPH 2025, Autodesk (NASDAQ: ADSK) unveiled its most creator-friendly pricing yet for Autodesk Flow Studio—including its first-ever free tier and a 50% price cut for the Lite plan (from $20 to $10). The move comes one year after Autodesk’s acquisition of Wonder Dynamics, signaling a broader push to democratize AI-driven VFX and 3D animation.
Flow Studio uses AI to handle the heavy lifting in visual effects—motion capture, camera tracking, character animation—so users can focus on the story instead of technical setup. With just a video clip, creators can insert CG characters into live-action scenes, export clean plates, alpha masks, 3D scenes, and camera tracks, and refine them in tools like Maya, Blender, or Unreal Engine.
Tiered Pricing for All Creators
The updated pricing introduces five tiers—Free, Standard, Lite, Pro, and Enterprise—designed to scale with a user’s creative journey.
- Free Tier – Includes core tools like AI Mocap and Live Action for first-time users and hobbyists.
- Lite ($10) – Full creative suite at half the old price.
- Pro – Now bundled into Autodesk’s Media & Entertainment Collection at no extra cost.
- Enterprise – Scalable access, enhanced support, and data controls for professional studios.
Advanced tools like Wonder Animation and Wonder Tools remain exclusive to paid tiers.
Why It Matters
AI-powered VFX tools have historically been locked behind high price tags, proprietary pipelines, and steep learning curves. Flow Studio’s new model removes much of that friction—opening the door for independent filmmakers, marketing teams, and content creators to produce professional-grade visuals without a Hollywood budget.
Diana Colella, EVP of Media & Entertainment at Autodesk, says it’s about putting creators first:
“By lowering the cost barrier, more storytellers are now able to explore how AI-powered tools can help bring their ideas to life, regardless of where they are along their creative journey.”
Nikola Todorovic, co-founder of Wonder Dynamics and now part of Autodesk, added:
“Our mission was always to make our technology free and affordable to as many creatives as possible… Now, powered by Autodesk’s infrastructure, we can finally make that a reality.”
The Big Picture
With the pricing overhaul, Autodesk has fully integrated Flow Studio into its ecosystem—aligning it with standard Autodesk policies, cloud infrastructure, and customer support. The inclusion of Flow Studio Pro in the Media & Entertainment Collection also gives current subscribers an immediate, low-risk way to experiment with AI in their workflows.
This move positions Autodesk to lead the charge in accessible, production-ready AI tools for media and entertainment, bringing once-elite capabilities to a global creator base.
