Impact.com, the company behind a global network connecting brands, publishers, and creators, is tackling one of AI’s growing economic dilemmas. Its new platform, Geodesix, provides a licensed content marketplace that allows AI systems to access publisher and creator content—and ensures those contributors get compensated.
Developed through Impact Labs, the company’s innovation arm, Geodesix addresses a problem that has been quietly escalating: as AI-driven tools increasingly provide product recommendations and answers, they often do so without sending traffic back to the original publishers. Recent data indicates that AI-generated answers can cut referral clicks by nearly 50%, with some sites losing more than 30% of search-driven visits.
“AI is built on content, but the people who create that content haven’t had a fair way to participate in the value it generates,” said Hanan Maayan, head of Impact Labs and GM of Geodesix. “Geodesix creates a simple, transparent way for AI companies to access high-quality publisher content, and for publishers to finally get paid when their work is used.”
How Geodesix Works
The platform gives AI systems approved access to trusted commerce content—product reviews, buying guides, tutorials, and comparison articles from leading creators and publishers. When that content contributes to AI-generated answers, Geodesix tracks usage and distributes revenue to publishers through a share-value model.
This model effectively introduces a “licensed layer” for AI, akin to stock photos or music licensing, but for commerce-related content. It represents a significant shift in how publishers can capture value in a world where AI increasingly mediates consumer decision-making.
Geodesix operates independently from impact.com, allowing it to move quickly, partner broadly with AI companies, and expand beyond commerce into other verticals like travel, finance, and B2B software. Early applications already target AI shopping assistants and recommendation engines, where high-quality content directly drives actionable insights for consumers.
Why It Matters
The launch signals a new chapter in the AI ecosystem, where publishers can claim a share of the economic benefits from their intellectual labor. By creating a transparent licensing system, Geodesix addresses a structural imbalance in AI, providing a blueprint for ethical, revenue-sharing content integration.
For brands and AI developers, the platform offers a compliant, scalable way to improve answer quality while avoiding legal or ethical gray areas around content usage. For publishers, it’s a chance to reclaim some of the traffic and revenue that AI-driven aggregation has diverted in recent years.
Geodesix is currently rolling out to select customers, with broader availability planned as the platform scales.
