SolarWinds, a leading provider of IT management and observability solutions, has unveiled the SolarWinds® AI Agent along with new AI-powered features aimed at accelerating autonomous operational resilience for IT teams. The announcement addresses a growing “resilience gap,” where nearly half of IT leaders report unexpected outages despite rating their systems as highly resilient.
“The SolarWinds AI Agent is more than a feature—it’s a foundation for a new way of working,” said Krishna Sai, CTO, SolarWinds. “By embedding intelligent, context-aware AI into IT workflows, we’re helping teams move beyond reactive firefighting to proactive innovation.”
AI-Powered Digital Teammate for IT Operations
The SolarWinds AI Agent acts as a digital team member for observability, incident response, and service management. Key capabilities include:
- Faster incident resolution: Automatically summarize outages, gather diagnostics, identify probable root causes, and suggest remediation steps.
- Natural language interface: Ask questions about system health, compare metrics, get recommendations, and launch multi-step workflows using plain-language commands.
- Simplified observability management: Configure and manage SolarWinds Observability directly through the AI agent.
Expanded AI Features Available Now
Alongside the AI Agent, SolarWinds introduced Root Cause Assist (generally available) and Dynamic Threshold Enhancements (available now):
- Root Cause Assist: Generates clear root-cause analyses from alerts and anomalies, cutting troubleshooting time.
- Dynamic Threshold Enhancements: Extends automated thresholding to more metrics, reducing noise and false positives.
Coming in 2026: Smarter, Autonomous Workflows
SolarWinds plans additional AI capabilities in 2026 to further enhance autonomous operational resilience:
- AI Incident Correlation for Service Desk: Groups related incidents and recommends problem management workflows.
- AI Knowledge Base Generation: Uses generative AI to create new knowledge articles from solved incidents, expanding self-service options.
- Automated Runbook Execution: Executes standard operating procedure steps automatically for first-touch response, diagnostics, or suggested fixes.
“With the AI Agent and expanded capabilities, we’re helping customers achieve autonomous operational resilience, where IT runs smarter, faster, and more securely with minimal manual intervention,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, President and CEO, SolarWinds.
Tech Preview and Availability
The SolarWinds AI Agent is now in Tech Preview within SolarWinds Observability SaaS, with broader availability across the SolarWinds portfolio planned for 2026.
IT professionals and teams can also experience these innovations during SolarWinds Day and THWACKcamp sessions, which cover system optimization, ticket resolution, database management, and hybrid environment operations.
