Automation may already run the modern enterprise, but Redwood Software wants it to think as well. The company—long known for orchestrating mission-critical IT and business processes—has unveiled Redwood RangerAI, a sweeping upgrade that infuses generative and agentic AI across its entire automation stack. The goal: turn automation from a rigid executor into a self-learning, self-healing digital workforce.
“Automation is moving from rule-following to goal-seeking,” said Kevin Greene, CEO of Redwood Software. “Customers are demanding adaptive systems that learn, decide, and act autonomously based on changing business dynamics. RangerAI delivers that.”
From Rules to Results
Traditional workload automation relies on predefined workflows—effective, but inflexible. RangerAI represents a shift toward outcome-driven automation, where AI doesn’t just execute jobs but anticipates needs, identifies friction, and makes adjustments dynamically.
This “automation intelligence” extends across every stage of the enterprise lifecycle, from workflow design to live operations. It’s not just about faster execution; it’s about resilient systems that learn continuously and reduce human firefighting.
Greene insists this isn’t AI hype. “This is not about ‘AI washing,’” he said. “It’s about embedding secure, practical intelligence built on 30 years of automation experience.”
Inside RangerAI: AI for Every Stage of Operations
The new platform brings a full suite of generative and agentic tools designed to simplify, accelerate, and scale enterprise automation:
- Agentic Orchestration (RunMyJobs): Users define a business goal; RangerAI determines the best execution path automatically. The system transforms reactive troubleshooting into proactive decision-making for critical workflows.
- RunMyJobs + SAP Joule Integration: Connects Redwood’s flagship automation platform with SAP’s AI assistant, expanding enterprise ecosystems while maintaining governance and safety.
- Product Assistant: A context-aware guide that helps onboard new users fast, reduces downtime, and streamlines troubleshooting.
- Automation Co-pilot: A generative AI assistant that writes, documents, and optimizes automation scripts in seconds—cutting development cycles dramatically.
- Learning Assistant: A conversational AI trained on Redwood’s entire knowledge base, enabling employees to self-serve, learn new skills, and resolve issues without escalation.
- Support Assistant: An AI-driven support layer that automates ticket triage and responses, reducing operational bottlenecks and downtime.
The Learning and Support Assistants are now live for all users, while Product Assistant and Co-pilot are rolling out to RunMyJobs SaaS customers this month. The Agentic Orchestration and SAP Joule integration are currently in Tech Preview.
Tackling Enterprise Friction at Scale
Redwood is targeting a persistent pain point in enterprise automation: reactive problem-solving and systemic complexity that slow innovation. RangerAI’s agentic layer continuously evaluates operational data, surfacing risks, suggesting optimizations, and in some cases, taking action automatically.
It’s a move aligned with a broader industry shift. As enterprises adopt generative AI, many realize the real opportunity lies in autonomous operations—systems that can learn from context and handle exceptions without manual input. Vendors like UiPath, ServiceNow, and IBM are all making similar plays, but Redwood’s deep automation pedigree gives it a unique edge in mission-critical, regulated environments.
Purpose-Built, Not Bolted On
Redwood stresses that RangerAI isn’t an add-on or integration layer but a native AI fabric woven through its platform. The company’s automation foundation—spanning financial close, supply chain orchestration, and IT workload management—provides the data and context AI needs to deliver actionable insights with full transparency.
That matters in high-stakes environments where AI-driven decisions must be explainable, auditable, and secure. RangerAI’s architecture is designed to preserve those controls while freeing human teams from repetitive, time-consuming tasks.
“Our customers don’t need more dashboards,” Greene said. “They need systems that learn and act responsibly—AI that truly delivers business value.”
The Road to Autonomous Enterprises
With RangerAI, Redwood is positioning itself as one of the first automation providers to merge generative, conversational, and agentic AI in a unified operational fabric. The promise is clear: fewer manual interventions, smarter workflows, and organizations that can finally keep pace with their data and decisions.
