PlusAI, a Physical AI company developing AI-based virtual driver software for autonomous trucks, has been named to Fast Company’s 2025 Next Big Things in Tech list in the Transportation category. The recognition spotlights emerging technologies with the potential to reshape industries and society.
The accolade comes as PlusAI continues to advance its Level 4 autonomous driving system, SuperDrive™, which powers factory-built autonomous trucks for major global OEMs, including TRATON GROUP (Scania/MAN/International brands), Iveco Group, and Hyundai Motor Company. SuperDrive™ is trained on over six million miles of real-world operations alongside simulation and closed-course testing, enabling safe, scalable, AI-native autonomous trucking.
Commercial launches of SuperDrive™-enabled trucks are slated for 2027, with PlusAI and Traton’s International already conducting fleet trials along key freight corridors in Texas.
“This recognition highlights the real-world impact of our AI breakthroughs and our deep partnerships with leading truck makers to bring factory-built self-driving trucks to market,” said David Liu, CEO and Co-Founder of PlusAI. “Driverless trucks enabled by SuperDrive™ will make freight safer, more efficient, and more resilient, while also creating new job opportunities and strengthening global supply chains.”
Fast Company’s Next Big Things in Tech list identifies innovations that are not only interesting today but also forecast the technologies shaping the next several years. Brendan Vaughan, Fast Company’s editor-in-chief, noted, “We congratulate the winners for their vision and innovation.”
PlusAI’s recognition adds to a growing list of honors, including TIME’s Best Inventions, Fast Company Most Innovative Companies, Inc. Best in Business, Reuters’ Automotive D.R.I.V.E Honours, the Edison Awards Gold Winner, and FreightWaves’ FreightTech 25 list, solidifying its position as a leader in autonomous transportation and AI-driven logistics solutions.
