Phaidra, the startup designing AI agents for AI factories, has raised over $50 million in a Series B funding round led by Collaborative Fund, with participation from Helena, Index Ventures, NVIDIA, Sony Innovation Fund, and others. The funding will accelerate the company’s mission to make AI data centers dramatically more energy-efficient.
Rethinking AI Infrastructure
At the heart of Phaidra’s vision is a simple—but often overlooked—truth: AI workloads are energy-intensive, and every watt counts. Modern AI factories rely on complex systems for power, cooling, and workload management, but these typically operate in silos, resulting in significant inefficiencies. Phaidra’s AI agents aim to orchestrate these systems as a unified whole, squeezing maximum intelligence out of every joule of energy.
“Every breakthrough in AI requires an equally ambitious breakthrough in infrastructure efficiency,” said Jim Gao, CEO of Phaidra. “Our technology enables AI data centers to run smarter, not just harder, cutting costs while dramatically reducing their environmental footprint.”
How AI Agents Drive Efficiency
Phaidra’s agents are designed to handle everything from liquid cooling and chiller plant management to workload optimization, using machine learning to outperform human intuition or static control logic. By continuously monitoring and coordinating all facets of an AI factory, the platform unlocks efficiency gains previously considered unattainable.
The company is already collaborating with NVIDIA to design next-generation AI infrastructure, a partnership that could redefine how compute-intensive workloads are managed at scale. The new capital will expand Phaidra’s agent ecosystem, deepen industry collaborations, and extend its reach to additional global operators.
Why It Matters
As AI adoption surges, energy consumption is becoming a critical bottleneck. By addressing this challenge head-on, Phaidra is not only cutting operational costs but also reducing the environmental footprint of AI factories—a win-win for both enterprise operators and sustainability-conscious stakeholders.
Sophie Bakalar, Partner at Collaborative Fund, emphasized the strategic importance: “Phaidra is tackling AI’s biggest bottleneck, energy consumption, in collaboration with NVIDIA, the global leader in compute.”
With AI models growing in scale and complexity, solutions like Phaidra’s could become essential infrastructure for the next generation of intelligent systems—ensuring AI runs faster, greener, and smarter.
