AI is speeding up how quickly developers can write new applications, but deployment and production workflows haven’t kept pace—until now. Netlify is closing that gap with the general availability of Observability, AI Gateway, and Prerender extensions, bringing clarity and control to applications after deployment and reducing operational overhead. Together, these features extend Netlify’s AI-native platform beyond code creation into full production management.
Closing the Gap Between Code and Production
“Developers move faster with AI when they write code, but deploy and run haven’t kept up. We’re changing that,” said Matt Biilmann, CEO and Co-founder of Netlify. “When code, builds, and production live on the same platform, developers don’t have to stitch their workflow across tools. It’s a cleaner experience, and it’s where modern development is headed.”
This release builds on Netlify’s earlier Agent Runners—which apply code updates via natural language—and Why Did It Fail, which explains build failures in plain terms. Observability, AI Gateway, and Prerendering now extend that momentum into post-deploy workflows, advancing Netlify’s Agent Experience (AX) vision, where developers and AI agents collaborate seamlessly in the same environment.
Observability: Production Insights in Real Time
Netlify Observability provides immediate insight into application behavior after deployment. It tracks request and function activity, making it easier to spot changes in latency, error patterns, or usage tied to recent updates. Developers can investigate changes directly in the Netlify dashboard, without managing a separate monitoring system.
“For enterprise teams, Observability provides the visibility needed to run AI-powered applications as dependable production workloads,” said Netlify. Josh Strachan, GM Business Solutions at AP Touring, added, “Our guests expect a flawless experience from the first click, and Netlify gives us that confidence.”
AI Gateway: Simplifying AI Integration
AI Gateway enables developers and agents to add AI features that work immediately—without managing accounts, credentials, or environment variables. It centralizes credentials, simplifies billing, and tracks usage across providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini, allowing teams to experiment with AI models faster and at scale.
Prerendering: Full Content for Crawlers and AI
Modern frameworks often rely on client-side rendering, which can hide content from crawlers or AI agents. Netlify’s Prerender extensions automatically serve fully rendered HTML to crawlers while preserving the dynamic experience for users. This ensures search engines and AI agents see the complete page, without developers maintaining separate rendering paths.
AI-Native Development, From Code to Production
By integrating these features, Netlify strengthens its AI-native platform, supporting more of the workflow developers and agents rely on together. From coding to deploying and monitoring AI-driven applications, developers can now operate with greater confidence, visibility, and control, reducing guesswork and streamlining production operations.
