Lambda, the company behind the Superintelligence Cloud, today announced a multibillion-dollar strategic agreement with Microsoft to deploy large-scale AI infrastructure powered by tens of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs, including NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems.
The multi-year collaboration marks one of the most ambitious cloud-based AI infrastructure expansions to date, strengthening both companies’ positions at the forefront of the global accelerated computing revolution.
“It’s great to watch the Microsoft and Lambda teams working together to deploy these massive AI supercomputers,” said Stephen Balaban, CEO of Lambda. “We’ve been working with Microsoft for more than eight years, and this is a phenomenal next step in our relationship.”
Powering the Next Wave of AI Compute
Under the new agreement, Lambda and Microsoft will jointly deploy NVIDIA’s latest data center-scale GPU systems to meet surging demand for large-scale AI training, inference, and fine-tuning workloads.
The expansion underscores a broader industry shift toward gigawatt-scale AI factories—massive infrastructure hubs purpose-built to train and serve the next generation of AI assistants, foundation models, and enterprise AI applications.
As enterprises accelerate adoption of AI copilots, generative agents, and multimodal assistants, access to advanced compute capacity has become a critical enabler of innovation.
Lambda’s Growing Role in the Global AI Ecosystem
Lambda’s mission—to build the Superintelligence Cloud—positions it as a key player in delivering high-performance, scalable AI infrastructure to startups, research labs, and Fortune 500 enterprises alike.
The company’s collaboration with Microsoft expands its ability to serve developers and organizations needing secure, on-demand access to world-class compute environments optimized for NVIDIA GPUs.
“This collaboration demonstrates Lambda’s position as a trusted at-scale partner for deploying compute infrastructure for the world’s leading AI products,” said Balaban.
Accelerating the AI Infrastructure Era
The agreement reflects the growing global demand for AI supercomputing capacity—driven by the explosive rise of generative AI assistants and enterprise-scale model deployment.
By aligning Lambda’s infrastructure expertise with Microsoft’s global cloud platform, the two companies are helping lay the foundation for what many view as one of the most significant technological shifts in human history: the emergence of the AI-powered economy.
