Kahoot!, the global learning and engagement platform, has introduced a suite of AI-powered features to help students succeed in the 2025 school year. The new tools are designed to save time, reduce exam anxiety, and make self-study more engaging—both online and offline.
AI-Powered Content Creation
With the updated AI Generator, students can instantly transform handwritten notes, documents, web pages, or even Wikipedia articles into interactive, gamified learning sessions. Formats include multiple-choice quizzes, practice tests, vocabulary reviews, and micro-lessons.
Additional AI tools, like the Question Extractor, turn exams into Kahoot! quiz questions, while Step-by-Step Solver breaks down complex problems, guiding students through each solution for better understanding.
Study Anywhere, Even Offline
Kahoot! now supports offline study experiences, allowing students to create and play interactive sessions without an internet connection. Apple users with iOS 26 can also use Quiz Starter, powered by Apple’s Foundation Models, to generate AI-driven quizzes locally for privacy-focused, on-device learning.
Test Mode: Simulate Exam Conditions
To help students prepare for exams, Kahoot! introduced Test Mode, which simulates a real test environment. Answers remain hidden until the end, and students receive a post-game summary highlighting scores, completion time, and incorrect answers. By identifying gaps, learners can target specific areas for review. Test Mode is included with the Kahoot!+ Gold subscription.
Motivation and Engagement
Students can stay motivated with study buddies, which cheer learners on and provide encouragement. Free users have access to a basic buddy, while subscribers unlock the full lineup of motivational characters. Daily and weekly streak achievements track progress and reward consistent learning with animations, milestones, and motivational messages.
Social Learning and Accuracy Mode
Kahoot! also supports collaborative learning through Study Groups, where students can play sessions together and compete on leaderboards. For a more thoughtful learning approach, Accuracy Mode emphasizes correct answers over speed, giving all participants equal time and points for correct responses, fostering deeper understanding and focus.
Alex Remen, VP of Product at Kahoot!, said, “With our new lineup of AI-powered study features, we’re combining generative AI with the engaging experience of Kahoot! to offer students a flexible, personalized, and impactful self-study experience—from mastering new concepts to acing exams.”
Implications for Students
By blending AI-driven personalization, gamification, offline capabilities, and collaborative study features, Kahoot! is positioning itself as a comprehensive, next-generation study platform that meets students’ evolving needs in an increasingly digital learning environment..
