IRIS Software Group, a global provider of HR, payroll, accountancy, and education software, has named Jason Dies as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 14, 2025. Dies, a seasoned tech executive with a 30-year track record in operational leadership and enterprise transformation, succeeds Gus Malezis, who steps down from his interim CEO post and will continue as Chairman of the Board.
The move signals a new phase of growth and international expansion for IRIS, whose software powers essential operations across industries ranging from finance and HR to education and compliance.
A Veteran of Enterprise Transformation
Dies most recently served as Interim CEO of Pitney Bowes, a $3 billion global technology, logistics, and financial services company. There, he oversaw a global team of 11,000 and served clients ranging from Fortune 500 giants to half a million SMBs. Known for championing a customer-centric culture and operational efficiency, Dies led modernization initiatives that reshaped Pitney Bowes’ product lines and opened up new markets.
He previously spent two decades at IBM, where he held leadership positions across services, marketing, client success, hardware, and global operations. His experience spans North America, Europe, and Asia—making him well-versed in scaling enterprise software platforms globally.
“Jason has a proven track record of transforming and scaling global organisations,” said Gus Malezis. “What truly sets him apart is his relentless focus on delivering customer value and empowering teams to execute. These principles are at the heart of everything we do at IRIS.”
Doubling Down on Global Ambitions
The appointment comes as IRIS continues to expand its international footprint and accelerate its technology roadmap. Under Dies’ leadership, the company is expected to invest more aggressively in innovation across its product suite—which serves millions of users in mission-critical areas like payroll compliance, accounting workflows, HR automation, and school information systems.
In a statement, Dies said:
“I’m honoured to join IRIS at such a pivotal time. The company already has a stellar reputation for delivering trusted, mission-critical software. I look forward to working with the team to push the boundaries of what’s possible for our customers, accelerate product innovation, and drive the next stage of global growth.”
IRIS has undergone a period of rapid evolution in recent years, expanding its software offerings and growing its presence across the UK, North America, and beyond. The addition of Dies, with his blend of operational depth and customer-driven strategy, suggests IRIS is aiming to move beyond regional leadership to truly global scale.
A Strategic Fit
Dies’ appointment follows a global executive search to find a leader equipped to navigate complex growth challenges in competitive B2B software markets. His resume reads like a playbook for IRIS’ next chapter:
- Deep experience in enterprise software transformation
- Proven success across operations, marketing, and product innovation
- A global lens on technology leadership and customer success
Dies is based in Connecticut, USA, and will travel frequently to the UK as part of his new role. He holds a BA from Cornell University and a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
