IntelePeer today announced a major enhancement to its end-to-end conversational and agentic AI platform through a deep integration of Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, delivering enterprise-grade performance and scalability for multi-location healthcare organizations and medical practices.
The collaboration between IntelePeer’s and Microsoft’s engineering teams modernizes the underlying data architecture powering IntelePeer’s omnichannel patient engagement workflows. By consolidating short-term memory, session data, and vector search into Azure Cosmos DB, the platform now supports richer, faster, and more intelligent patient experiences across voice, messaging, APIs, and LLM-driven applications.
According to IntelePeer, the new integration reduces architectural complexity while giving healthcare organizations more flexibility to build advanced AI-driven workflows that enhance patient satisfaction and streamline operations.
“By integrating advanced features of Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB into our conversational and agentic AI platform, we’re giving our customers enterprise-grade capabilities that enable them to deliver superior patient experiences,” said Frank Fawzi, CEO of IntelePeer.
“It’s part of our commitment to provide healthcare providers practical, easy-to-use AI-powered solutions that can be quickly deployed so they can improve patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.”
Real-Time AI Performance Boosted Across Channels
The integration enables a unified data layer capable of supporting Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, personalization, and high-volume conversational sessions. Key improvements include:
- 15ms average latency per transaction, accelerating real-time responsiveness
- Consolidation of short-term memory, session storage, and vector search into a single Cosmos DB environment
- Lower infrastructure spend driven by Cosmos DB’s auto-scaling, logical isolation, and emulation features
- The ability to transform FAQ documents into embeddings for more intelligent AI agents
This upgraded stack allows IntelePeer’s AI agents to deliver more contextually aware and personalized patient interactions, from appointment workflows to clinical triage.
“With Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, it’s night and day compared to our previous use of self-managed clusters,” said Sergey Galchenko, CTO of IntelePeer.
“We’ve gained fine-grained control over performance, simplified our infrastructure, and empowered our AI agents to deliver smarter, faster, and more scalable customer experiences.”
Microsoft: A Showcase of Cloud-Native AI Data Architecture
Microsoft highlighted the integration as an example of how cloud-native databases can unlock new performance levels for AI-driven CX and patient experience platforms.
“IntelePeer’s use of Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB showcases the power of cloud-native databases to deliver real-time, AI-driven customer experiences at scale,” said Kirill Gavrylyuk, Vice President, Azure Cosmos DB at Microsoft.
“By using Azure Cosmos DB’s low-latency performance, vector search capabilities, and seamless scalability, IntelePeer is empowering its customers with enterprise-grade AI performance in solutions that are both cost-effective and transformative.”
