Guident Corp. has announced that it has received Notices of Allowance for its patent titled “Artificial Intelligence Method and Apparatus for Remote Monitoring and Control of Autonomous Vehicles” in both the United States (No. 17/909,432) and South Korea (No. 10-2022-7034516).
These patents, expected to be formally granted upon final processing and fee payment, significantly strengthen Guident’s international patent portfolio in AI-driven autonomous vehicle safety and monitoring.
Patent Overview:
The patent describes an AI-enabled Remote Monitor and Control Center (RMCC) that leverages distributed sensor fusion to assess sensor data across multiple autonomous vehicles—regardless of their governing entity. When a vehicle is assessed to be at high risk, the system can intervene, assume control, implement safety protocols, and then return control once the vehicle is operating safely.
This technology enables real-time safety decision-making and multi-vehicle awareness, a critical capability for advancing safe autonomous mobility.
Global Patent Portfolio:
Guident now holds patents or validations in key global markets, including:
- United States
- European Union & 20+ European countries
- Japan
- South Korea
- Hong Kong
- Canada
