Connectivity and embedded computing leader Ezurio has unveiled the Nitrogen95 Connected System-on-Module (SOM), a high-performance platform designed for vision, display, and AI-enabled edge applications. Built on the NXP i.MX 95 applications processor family, the module integrates advanced imaging, AI acceleration, and pre-certified Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth LE connectivity.
Heterogeneous Computing for Demanding Edge Workloads
The Nitrogen95 combines multi-core processors—Cortex-A55, Cortex-M7, and Cortex-M33—with a 2 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI acceleration. This architecture supports intensive edge tasks such as image recognition, predictive analytics, and real-time control, all in a compact SMARC 2.2 form factor (82 mm × 50 mm). Ethernet PHYs onboard enable scalability across processor, memory, and wireless configurations.
Extensive I/O and Industrial Reliability
Designed for industrial, medical, and robotics applications, the module features PCIe Gen3, USB 3.1, dual 1 Gb and 10 Gb Ethernet, CAN-FD, and GPIO, with wide operating temperatures from –40 °C to +85 °C and secure boot support. Its software ecosystem includes Yocto Linux, Android, and RTOS, offering developers flexible integration options.
Accelerated Prototyping With Nitrogen95 EVK
Ezurio also introduces the Nitrogen95 Evaluation Kit (EVK), which includes the SOM, a carrier board, a 7-inch touchscreen display, an Arducam camera module, and all necessary power and connectivity components. A non-camera version is available for more general use. This turnkey kit enables developers to begin prototyping AI, HMI, and edge vision systems immediately, reducing engineering risk and accelerating time-to-market.
