DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) is stepping up its AI advisory game with the launch of AdvisoryX, a global consulting group aimed at helping enterprises tackle their most complex strategic, operational, and technology challenges. The launch is accompanied by a new global study revealing that while AI is a board-level priority for many organizations, the execution gap remains substantial.
“Enterprises are under intense pressure to ‘do AI,’ but most still lack the fundamentals—optimized data, clear business cases, aligned leadership, and the right technical architecture,” said Pete McEvoy, Global Head of AdvisoryX Group. “AdvisoryX helps close that gap, enabling organizations to build solid technical foundations, reimagine processes around value, implement disciplined operations and validation, and design interfaces that make AI work for people. The result is AI that scales responsibly and delivers measurable impact.”
The AI Execution Gap
DXC’s inaugural AdvisoryX global study surveyed enterprises on their AI strategy, deployment, and scaling readiness. Key findings include:
- 77% of leaders say AI is a board-level priority
- 30% plan to implement agentic AI within months
- 65% cannot build a clear enterprise business case for AI
- 94% face significant challenges deploying AI at scale
The study highlights a disconnect between AI ambition and organizational readiness. While boards prioritize AI, two-thirds of companies lack a clear business case, and nearly all respondents encounter scaling hurdles. The research also shows evolving expectations around AI in the workforce:
- 50% expect hybrid AI-human models with partial autonomy
- 31% see AI primarily assisting humans, and only 15% anticipate fully autonomous systems soon
- By 2028, 81% expect AI to increase workforce demand in IT, data, cybersecurity, and software development
