In a move set to reshape the UAE’s digital transformation landscape, Dubai Holding and Palantir Technologies have announced a landmark joint venture named Aither—Palantir’s first UAE-based partnership and one of the most ambitious AI collaborations in the region to date.
The announcement follows 18 months of operational collaboration between the two organizations that has already driven measurable efficiency and data-led decision-making across Dubai Holding’s sprawling portfolio, which spans real estate, hospitality, finance, and infrastructure. The formal signing took place in Dubai on 31 October, witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Holding, and His Excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs.
From Pilot to Platform
Since early 2024, Dubai Holding has integrated Palantir’s AI and data platforms across flagship entities such as Nakheel, Meraas, and Jumeirah, producing tangible performance gains—something many AI “initiatives” promise but few deliver. The success of this operational rollout convinced both parties to scale their collaboration into a full-fledged joint venture.
Now, with Aither, those proven AI capabilities will be extended beyond Dubai Holding’s ecosystem to strategic commercial sectors across the UAE, including government, logistics, and finance—domains where AI integration could have outsized national impact.
Institutionalizing AI in the Emirates
Aither’s mandate is clear: become the UAE’s national platform for enterprise AI transformation. By marrying Dubai Holding’s sectoral reach with Palantir’s software and engineering expertise, the venture aims to localize AI excellence—driving adoption while ensuring knowledge transfer and governance frameworks that align with national priorities.
It’s also a major step toward realizing the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which targets AED 100 billion in annual digital transformation value. By embedding Palantir’s advanced operational AI within UAE enterprises, Aither positions Dubai as a global reference point for applied AI—where economic diversification meets digital sovereignty.
“Made in Dubai” AI, with Global Ambition
“Through Aither, we are establishing a platform to extend these capabilities to the wider market—enabling businesses to access world-class AI solutions made in Dubai,” said Amit Kaushal, CEO of Dubai Holding. “This will help advance Dubai’s digital ambitions, equipping the emirate with cutting-edge tools and capabilities to accelerate economic diversification and strengthen the UAE’s position as a leader in the global digital economy.”
Palantir CEO Alex Karp—known for his plainspoken approach to AI geopolitics—framed the partnership as both strategic and symbolic: “Our mission is to equip our friends and allies with the tools they need to win. We are proud to partner with Dubai Holding to deploy Palantir’s world-class AI capabilities and further bolster Dubai’s position as a global innovation hub.”
A Strategic Model for AI Partnerships
The creation of Aither signals a new phase in the UAE’s AI playbook—one that emphasizes localized implementation, measurable outcomes, and national capability building over generic platform licensing. Unlike typical partnerships that import AI tech wholesale, Aither promises co-creation and on-ground enablement—embedding Palantir’s platforms into the UAE’s economic fabric.
In the broader global context, this move reflects how nations are beginning to assert digital autonomy by anchoring foreign AI expertise within domestic frameworks—a trend that echoes recent partnerships between major governments and Western AI firms.
The Next Chapter in Applied AI
As Aither ramps up operations, its success could redefine what it means to deploy AI “at scale”—not in code demos or pilot projects, but in the day-to-day systems that underpin modern cities and economies. If it delivers on its promise, Aither could serve as a blueprint for public-private AI ecosystems worldwide.
