Azimuth AI, a California- and Hyderabad-based semiconductor innovator, has closed a new funding round led by Jetha Global, with participation from Moneta Ventures, AUM Ventures, and other investors. The fresh capital comes as the company prepares for large-scale deployment of its ARKA-GKT1 edge-AI System-on-Chip (SoC), designed for smart utilities, industrial infrastructure, and energy-efficient edge intelligence.
The funding underscores strong investor confidence in Azimuth AI’s Software-Defined Silicon approach, disciplined execution, and global market potential. “As we enter 2026, Azimuth AI is moving into a new phase defined by production deployments and scale,” said CEO Praveen Yasarapu. The ARKA-GKT1 chip is already progressing through qualification and customer testing, on track for production ramp later this year.
From Pilot to Production-Ready Edge Silicon
ARKA-GKT1 represents India’s first smart-utility-focused, next-generation IP-powered silicon, unveiled in New Delhi in November 2025 by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics & IT, Railways, and Communications. Built on a Software-Defined Silicon architecture, ARKA-GKT1 promises up to 10× performance gains over general-purpose chips, with energy efficiency, high reliability, and robust security.
“Azimuth AI stands out for the pedigree of its team, including Intel veterans, and a track record of 30+ successful SoC tape-outs and high-volume production ramps,” noted Karan Danthi, founder and CIO of Jetha Global. The new funding is intended to support production-scale deployment and global market expansion.
Why It Matters for Smart Infrastructure
Azimuth AI is addressing a key market gap: energy-efficient, high-performance silicon tailored for intelligent edge systems in utilities, energy, and industrial IoT. By combining integration, flexibility, and AI-enabled decision-making on-chip, the company enables faster, smarter, and more cost-effective solutions for grid management, industrial automation, and infrastructure monitoring.
Co-founder Sridevi Badiga emphasized, “What we are building truly matters—world-class silicon, real customer impact, and a company that will meaningfully improve the future of energy-efficient infrastructure.”
With fresh capital, national-level recognition, and growing customer traction, Azimuth AI is positioned to scale production, solidify global partnerships, and expand its footprint in the fast-growing edge-AI semiconductor market in 2026.
