Accelsius, a pioneer in two-phase, direct-to-chip (2P D2C) liquid cooling, has announced the general availability of NeuCool® MR250, its first row-based Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) designed to scale high-performance cooling for AI and HPC data centers. The MR250 will make its public debut at the Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit, October 13–16, in San Jose.
Purpose-built for the most demanding workloads, the MR250 delivers 250 kW of liquid cooling per rack in flexible configurations (1 × 250 kW or 2 × 125 kW per rack). This unit is the first in a planned series of multi-rack NeuCool solutions, with higher-capacity systems expected in 2026.
“The MR250 signals a new chapter for liquid cooling,” said Josh Claman, CEO of Accelsius. “Two-phase, direct-to-chip solutions are no longer just proofs of concept. They are ready for the scale and reliability that modern data centers demand. With MR250, operators can deploy with confidence, reducing risk, maintenance, and cost across the facility.”
Why the MR250 Matters
Unlike single-phase water cooling, the MR250 uses refrigerant-based two-phase cooling, reducing the need for constant water treatment and monitoring. This approach mitigates leak risks, simplifies operations, and protects sensitive IT assets, providing enhanced reliability for mission-critical environments.
Other key benefits include:
- Higher energy efficiency: Supports facility water temperatures up to 45°C, enabling more free-cooling days and lower energy consumption.
- Sustainability options: Compatible with refrigerants R1233zd(E) or R-515B, allowing operators to balance environmental goals and performance.
- Scalable production: Manufactured at Accelsius’ expanded Austin facility, now with 500% more capacity, plus contract manufacturing for high-volume deployments.
Select MR250 units were deployed late in Q3 2025, with broader rollouts planned through Q4 2025 and into 2026.
Debut at OCP Global Summit
Attendees can see the MR250 at Booth B43. Accelsius will also participate in technical sessions exploring next-gen cooling innovations:
- Two-Phase Micropillar Evaporators for GPU Servers – Oct. 15, 10:35 a.m.
- TCO Analysis of Single- vs. Two-Phase Cooling – Oct. 15, 3:30 p.m.
Additionally, a Legrand x Accelsius Happy Hour will take place on Oct. 14 from 6:00–8:30 p.m. at the Continental Bar (invite required).
The MR250 represents a major step in scaling 2P D2C liquid cooling for AI and HPC workloads, delivering high reliability, energy efficiency, and operational simplicity for the next generation of data centers.
